About the role:
As a Bank Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a key role within our Blood Sciences laboratories, supporting Haematology and Clinical Biochemistry services. Working alongside Biomedical Scientists and Clinical Scientists, you will help ensure samples are processed accurately and efficiently, contributing directly to patient diagnosis and care.

Key responsibilities:
1. Receiving, sorting, prioritising, and processing laboratory specimens
2. Specimen reception and data entry using laboratory information systems
3. Assisting with sample analysis under supervision
4. Maintaining stock levels of reagents and consumables
5. General laboratory housekeeping, including equipment and bench cleaning
6. Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the laboratory
What we’re looking for:
7. Genuine interest in science or laboratory work
8. At least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English, Maths, and Science
9. Strong attention to detail and a conscientious approach
10. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
11. Good communication skills and respect for confidentiality
12. Previous laboratory or customer service experience is desirable but not essential
