Role Overview
Working with children and their families to assist in decision-making for children to remain at home or return home to their parents.
Being responsible for all aspects of case management, including statutory visiting, care planning and review, and court processes.
Working with children subject to care proceedings and their families, producing work of an excellent standard with recommendations based on sound evidence-based analysis.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Working alongside a multi-agency team of professionals, in partnership with families.
2. Leading the team using the Signs of Safety approach to social work practice.
3. Encouraging and supporting the team in adopting the Signs of Safety approach.
4. Contributing to the development and maintenance of effective systems to ensure quality services.
5. Engaging with MASH regarding referrals, supervising Wellbeing Assessments and Section 47 investigations.
6. Working in a multi-agency capacity to support families.
7. Attending Child Protection Case Conferences alongside the social worker.
8. Providing consultation on practice issues for staff and, where appropriate, managers.
9. Offering specialist advice and support across the team.
10. Supervising, mentoring, and coaching staff within Children’s Services as required, and supporting staff with students on placement to ensure quality development.
11. Taking responsibility for delegated decision-making appropriate to the role.
Requirements:
1. Social Work Degree.
2. Experience working within a Child Health & Disability Team.
3. Experience providing supervision to students and staff.
4. Enhanced DBS within the last 12 months, preferably on the update service. Fast-track options may be available.
