Fostering Social Worker South West £35-£45 per hour Full or part time hours available Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Fostering Social Worker to join our client’s team in the South West on a temporary agency basis, offering a competitive hourly rate of £35-£45, depending on experience, and an immediate start. This hybrid role provides the opportunity to work within a well-established organisation, supporting foster carers and making a meaningful difference to children and young people with complex needs. As a Fostering Social Worker, you will manage a small caseload of 3-4 foster carers, providing high-quality supervision, guidance, and support, with a strong focus on safeguarding, compliance, and achieving positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities Supervising and supporting foster carers to ensure they provide high-quality care to children and young people Completing complex fostering assessments and reviews to inform decision-making and ensure the best outcomes for children Producing high-quality, analytical reports to present to the fostering panel and other stakeholders Presenting to the fostering panel to provide expert advice and guidance on foster care placements Supporting placements for children and young people with complex needs, ensuring their safety and well-being Ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including those related to safeguarding and child protection Participating in an out-of-hours/on-call rota to provide emergency support and guidance to foster carers Location and Working Pattern Hybrid working arrangement, with regular attendance (weekly or fortnightly) at the hub based in Bristol Travel required across the South West, including Bristol, BANES, North Somerset, Somerset, Swindon, and South Gloucestershire Some travel to more remote locations, with own transport essential Requirements Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration Minimum 2 years’ post-qualifying experience in a related field Fostering experience preferred, but not essential Strong assessment, report writing, and IT skills, with the ability to work independently and manage a small caseload effectively Willingness to participate in an on-call rota and work flexibly to meet the needs of the service Benefits Competitive agency rates of £35-£45 per hour, depending on experience Hybrid and flexible working arrangement, with a manageable caseload Opportunity to work within a respected national organisation, making a real difference to the lives of children and young people A rewarding role supporting foster carers and vulnerable young people, with the potential for career development and progression About the Company Completely Care is a specialist recruitment agency supporting the health & social care, education, and childcare sectors.
