SEND Teaching Assistant – KS3

Classroom Recruiters are working in close partnership with a supportive secondary school in the Burton area to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position for the rest of the academic year.
This role involves providing dedicated 1:1 support to a KS3 pupil who is highly physically able and independent in that sense, but who benefits greatly from emotional reassurance, consistency, and support with learning.
The school has secured additional funding for the remainder of the academic year and is looking to appoint someone who can commit to the role, offering stability and a familiar presence for the child each day. The Headteacher is clear that finding the right person is far more important than filling the role quickly.
The Role
* Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
* Location: Burton Area
* Age Range: Key Stage 3
* Hours: 08:30 – 15:30
* Days: Monday to Friday
* Contract: Full-time, full academic year
* Start Date: ASAP
* Pay: £19,500 – £21,450 per annum (with 12 weeks off)
What You’ll Be Doing
This is not a physically demanding role.
The child you will be supporting is physically capable and independent.
Your role will focus on:
* Supporting the child with their learning and engagement in lessons
* Helping them stay regulated, calm, and focused throughout the school day
* Providing emotional reassurance and a steady, trusted presence
* Helping the child navigate social situations and classroom expectations
* Working closely with the class teacher and wider support staff to adapt learning approaches
