An exciting opportunity has arisen within Midlothian Justice Services for a full-time Justice Practitioner. The successful candidate will support the Justice Social Work team in delivering interventions aimed at reducing reoffending and promoting health and wellbeing through inclusion and community reintegration. The role involves working with adults in contact with the Justice system, as well as children and young people whose parents or carers are involved in the Justice system, including those within the Caledonian System. Justice Practitioners will also assist in delivering non-statutory justice services, such as early intervention and prevention activities, including work with individuals on Structured Deferred Sentences, HDC/electronic monitoring, and other relevant tasks.

Knowledge
The successful candidate must meet the following essential criteria:
* Educated to HNC social care and SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
* Experience working with relevant practice, policy, procedures, and legislation, including awareness of the SSSC Code of Practice, Human Rights legislation, and Adult Support and Protection.
* Experience working with adults and families, including trauma-based interventions.
* Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of key agencies.
* Experience and training in delivering restorative justice interventions, and/or
* Experience and training in delivering the Caledonian System.
Midlothian Justice Services are co-located with statutory partners in various health and mental health services, as well as third sector organizations. The role will primarily be office-based with options for remote work upon agreement. The working pattern will be mutually agreed with the successful candidate and the recruiting manager.
Skills
A valid full driving license is considered essential for this position.
