We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association, who are recruiting for a Housing Management Lawyer on an initial twelve-month fixed-term contract. The position is due to start immediately, though they can wait on notice, and can offer a salary up to £53,000.

The successful candidate will have Social Housing experience, being able to work confident on disrepair cases, as well as a broad range of Housing Litigation matters.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Providing specialist advice and representation in the housing management areas, with a primary focus on, disrepair but to also include advising on general housing management (succession/mutual exchange) income management, and leasehold management, taking into account the Regulator of Social Housing’s regulatory framework
* Drafting court papers including pleadings, applications and witness statements.
* Developing and maintaining relationships with counsel and third parties such as process servers and expert witnesses
* Drafting instructions to counsel and third parties
* Identifying, managing, advising and reporting on legal risks, including regulatory risks
* Operating within the parameters of the legal budget; including monitoring savings on legal costs
* Delivering value for money by undertaking legal work in-house and where appropriate, taking responsibility for housing work referred to the external legal panel
* Assisting the Head of Legal to provide reports on legal advice delivered, as well as providing reports on value for money and costs savings of the in-house legal provision as required
* Maintaining and developing legal templates
* Keeping up to date and keeping the business up to date with legal, regulatory and best practice developments by:
- Contributing to strategy, policies and procedures, proposing amendments as required
- Creating and delivering legal training to the business
- Providing legal updates as required to senior management, Board and Committees
Experience required:
* Experience required in Social Housing
Working hours:
* 35 hours per week
* Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
