Payroll & Accounts Assistant
Location: Blackpool (FY2) | Salary: £27,000–£29,000 (DOE) | Hours: Full-time
We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven Payroll & Accounts Assistant to join our friendly head office team at a well-established and successful construction company in Blackpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with Sage 50 Payroll and Sage 200 Accounts experience who wants to take ownership of varied finance responsibilities within a supportive and stable business.
What you'll be doing:
* Managing weekly payroll (circa 75 operatives) and monthly payroll end-to-end using Sage 50
* Handling PAYE, RTI submissions, pensions, HMRC, SSP, P11Ds and related compliance
* Processing purchase ledger invoices and payments (Sage 200)
* Managing sales ledger transactions and project accounting (Sage 200)
* Completing bank reconciliations, cashbook posting, and BACS payments
* Preparing accruals, prepayments, VAT reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations
* Assisting with ad hoc finance and accounting tasks as required
What we're looking for:
* Proven experience with Sage 50 Payroll and Sage 200 Accounts
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Good organisational and time-management skills
* Competent with Excel and Word (intermediate level)
* A clear communicator who enjoys working as part of a team
What we offer:
* Competitive salary of £27,000–£29,000, depending on experience
* 23 days holiday + 8 bank holidays (with 7 days required for Christmas shutdown)
* Standard working hours: 8.30am – 5.00pm (0.5 hr lunch) – some flexibility may be required
