Overview

A vacancy has arisen for Full time Facilities Management Supervisor to work within the Cleaning Service at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. We are looking for a motivated person with a positive can do attitude.

Shift pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday 12.00-8.00pm. Please note Saturday and Sunday shift enhanced pay rate.


Responsibilities

* Supervise the day-to-day operation of Domestic Services and the enquiry desk, ensuring quality services are delivered in compliance with relevant service specification and key performance indicators.
* Ensure the continuous delivery of services and respond to service failures in a timely manner; act as key contact for daily operational issues and resolve issues professionally.
* Organise day-to-day planning and delivery of Domestic Services and the enquiry desk in accordance with service specifications, work instructions, service level agreements and client requirements.
* Ensure sufficient numbers of staff are available to deliver quality and timely Domestic Services and the enquiry desk; cover shortages by reallocation of work duties; escalate issues to Line Manager / Duty Manager out of hours where necessary.
* Assist in developing and delivering appropriate work schedules, frequencies and programs to meet customer and service expectations.
* Train all staff in their area of work as agreed with the Assistant Facilities Manager; organise outsourced training requirements.
* Cover absence/breaks on the enquiry desk.
* Liaise with ward or department staff to identify issues of service performance and agree recovery actions; report persistent failures to the Assistant Facilities Manager.
* Work closely with the service performance team to ensure service failures are rectified as soon as possible within agreed response times.
* Respond to and report on Datix incidents; conduct initial investigation as appropriate and inform Facilities Manager.
* Ensure all work allocated is undertaken and completed in accordance with relevant policies and procedures, within agreed timescales; prioritise competing work areas effectively.
* Liaise with multidisciplinary staff to maintain good working relationships and effective communication at all times.
* Organise stock control and consumables as directed; manage and maintain stock control and safe use of equipment.
* Assist in recruitment, appointment, induction, training and retention of staff; receive and distribute work instructions to the appropriate service delivery staff; prepare and issue ID badges.
* Routinely patrol the site and issue warning/parking tickets as necessary; manage audit fails and rectifications by issuing and returning items within given timeframes; partake in joint audits.
* Undertake and record probationary reviews, RTW conversations and informal meetings; oversee the deep clean programme/teams; carry out and record induction and induction training.
* Organise and oversee the deep clean programme and induction training as required.
* Respond to and report on any other duties as directed by the line manager within the scope of the role.
