About the Role
As a System Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving demand and creating opportunities for key technical product categories and strategic brands within your assigned region. This is a highly customer-facing role, engaging directly with clients, design partners, and end users to identify new projects, influence specifications, and introduce innovative brands and technologies.
You will work closely with the Technical Director, Solutions Architect, Brand, and Account Management teams to open doors, uncover requirements, and ensure opportunities are effectively developed and closed. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, spotting opportunities, and shaping technical solutions that deliver real value.
What you will be doing in this role
* Achieve monthly GP targets and agreed KPIs.
* Manage deals in detail for all opportunities above the agreed threshold.
* Position all Midwich products and services within opportunities, both reactively and proactively.
* Maximise opportunities through attachment and upselling.
* Proactively identify and generate new opportunities for technical product categories within target customer segments.
* Conduct customer meetings, presentations, workshops, and site visits to promote key brands, solutions, and integrated offerings.
* Develop relationships with integrators, resellers, and occasionally consultants/end users to increase solution awareness and influence design choices.
* Collaborate with the Solutions Architect to support technical validation, system designs, and pre-sales assurance.
* Support account and brand management teams by providing account insight, project intelligence, and visibility of future opportunities.
* Maintain awareness of competitor activity, market developments, and category trends, providing feedback to the Technical Director and wider teams.
* Represent Midwich at industry events, vendor demonstrations, and technology showcases as required.
* Ensure all opportunities and customer interactions are accurately recorded, including qualification notes and handover details.
* Contribute to joined-up quoting and opportunity mapping by engaging in structured pipeline reviews with internal teams.
What you will bring to the role
* Understanding of AV or UC product categories and general solution applications.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills, both in-person and remotely.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Confidence in presenting to customers and stakeholders at varying levels.
* Ability to manage time and travel efficiently across a regional territory.
* A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
* Problem-solving ability and proactive approach to challenges.
* Effective time management and organisational skills.
