You will play a key role in ensuring learners with Special Educational Needs develop the knowledge and confidence required for everyday life and future employment. Key Responsibilities As a Functional Skills Subject Lead, you will: Lead and oversee Functional Skills delivery across the provision Manage initial assessments, diagnostics, and learner progress tracking Embed Functional Skills across vocational and foundation pathways Oversee exam processes, including bookings, invigilation planning, and compliance Support and develop tutors through observations, coaching, and feedback Deliver targeted Functional Skills teaching from Entry Level 1 to Level 2 Work collaboratively with education leaders to ensure consistency and quality Maintain accurate records and contribute to learner progress reviews and reports What We're Looking For We are looking for a skilled Functional Skills Subject Lead in Hillingdon who can demonstrate: Essential Experience and Skills: Proven experience delivering high-quality Functional Skills (English and Maths) Experience working with young people with SEN, particularly neurodivergent learners Strong understanding of Functional Skills assessments and exam processes Experience supporting or leading teaching staff Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent) Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) Desirable: Experience with BKSB diagnostics Knowledge of NCFE qualifications Background in Further Education or specialist SEN settings Why Apply for this Functional Skills Subject Lead Role in Hillingdon?
