UHI North, West and Hebrides is one of ten academic partners and research centres that make up UHI. This unique partnership allows us to deliver further and higher education programmes at our 19 campuses and centres across the North and West Highlands, Skye and the Outer Hebrides. To support our work, we are recruiting for the following role:


Learning Support Worker - Fort William

Position: Are you passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment? We’re looking for a compassionate and proactive Learning Support Worker based at our Fort William campus to play a key role in empowering students to thrive—academically, personally, and emotionally. You’ll be the first point of contact for learners with additional needs, helping identify the right support and guiding them with empathy and expertise throughout their education journey.

Responsibilities: As a key player in our Student Services Team, you'll be at the heart of delivering a learner-focused support service. From coordinating learning support and providing tailored guidance to championing mental health and wellbeing, you’ll help create an inclusive and empowering environment for our students.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills: The suitable candidates will have SCQF Level 7 qualification (or equivalent) in an appropriate area, demonstrable knowledge and successful experience of delivering high quality student services and an understanding of safeguarding procedures. A level of Gaelic ability would be advantageous to your application.

Location: Fort William

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Permanent Contract

Closing Date: 25th July 2025, 12 noon

Interviews: Expected to be 5th and 6th August 2025
