Role overview
We’re looking for a highly organised, reliable Office Administrator with HR support responsibilities to join our well-established textiles manufacturing business in South Chard. This is a varied, hands‑on role supporting day-to-day office operations and providing administrative support across key HR processes.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will also provide administrative support to a team of nine department supervisors, helping keep the office and people processes running smoothly.
Key responsibilities
Office administration
* Manage general office administration, including correspondence, filing and record keeping
* Act as the first point of contact for visitors, phone calls and emails
* Maintain office supplies and coordinate supplier orders
* Provide admin support to the General Manager and department supervisors
* Support production and management teams with day-to-day admin tasks
* Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of internal systems
HR support (administrative)
* Assist with recruitment administration (job adverts, interview scheduling, onboarding paperwork)
* Maintain employee records in line with data protection requirements
* Support tracking of attendance, holidays and sickness records
* Assist with inductions, training records and policy updates
* Provide general administrative support to the HR function
General
* Follow company procedures and policies and support continuous improvement
* Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
What we're looking for
Essential
* Proven experience in an office‑based administrative role
* Strong organisation and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Ability to build strong working relationships and work independently as well as part of a team
Desirable
* Previous HR administration support experience
* Experience within manufacturing/production
* Experience supporting multiple stakeholders/departments
* Basic understanding of HR processes and employment administration
