HSE Manager
Main purpose of the job
To develop and implement Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability best practices, ensuring compliance with current legislation, approved codes of practice, and guidance related to employment and service provision. The HSE Manager works proactively with managers to establish and maintain safe systems of work and a safe environment for colleagues and visitors. This role supports the AGM to ensure the plant meets Artifex Interior Systems' HSES requirements and complies with relevant standards and legislation, engaging with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
The role also involves a focus on continuous improvement in safety, sustainability, and environmental performance. The HSE Manager provides leadership and coaching to the site team, offering guidance and support.
Responsibilities include gathering and reporting HSES data, evaluating management system effectiveness, initiating corrective actions, implementing improvements, and ensuring local procedures align with Artifex standards.
Main missions and results
1. Support the HSES Director with action plans, meetings, and technical support.
2. Assist in ISO14001 / ISO45001 internal audits, with familiarity in HSE management systems and ISO norms.
3. Review audits against Artifex standards and SIP audits during integrated audits.
4. Prepare HSE communications, alerts, and promote good behaviors.
5. Track and report audit findings, investigation reports, and open points.
6. Analyze accidents and incidents, identify trends, and perform root cause analysis.
7. Process statistical data and prepare reports for management.
8. Create and manage continuous improvement plans.
9. Ensure document control according to standards.
10. Support HSE committee meetings and define management system requirements.
11. Maintain HSES standards and ensure customer requirements are met.
12. Document local management systems and provide feedback for best practices.
13. Report audit results and ensure timely closure of deviations.
14. Advise management on measures to improve system effectiveness.
15. Train and coach management to meet ISO standards and other requirements.
16. Prepare for third-party audits and ensure closure of deviations.
17. Stay informed on legislation changes and update legal registers.
18. Participate in management reviews and support HSES programs.
19. Coach management on HSES matters and ensure adherence to policies.
20. Support the UK team and manage sustainability Kaizen processes.
21. Ensure proper HSES induction for employees and visitors.
22. Report incident statistics and drive corrective actions.
Preferred skills and experience
* Experience in automotive or production sectors as HSE Engineer or Manager.
* Document management experience.
* Degree in chemistry, machinery, mechanics, or related to environment and safety.
* Knowledge of ISO14001, ISO45001, HSE legislation, and customer standards.
* Fluent in English, proficient in MS Office.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Empathic, active listener, capable of managing multiple tasks.
* Passion for continuous learning of HSES principles and technologies.
* Strong interpersonal, influencing, and leadership skills.
* Problem-solving skills and drive for continuous improvement.
