Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate, nurturing, and creative EYFS Teacher to join a welcoming and community-focused primary school on a fixed-term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality early years education, ensuring all pupils are engaged, supported, and encouraged to achieve their full potential within a safe and stimulating learning environment.
This role would suit a practitioner with a strong understanding of early childhood development and a commitment to inclusive, child-centred learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
* Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons in line with the EYFS Framework
* Create a stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environment that fosters curiosity, independence, and exploration
* Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of all pupils, including those with SEND and EAL
* Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date observations
* Use assessment effectively to inform planning and next steps in learning
Classroom Management
* Establish a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
* Promote high standards of behaviour in line with school policies
* Foster strong relationships with children to support their emotional and social development
Pastoral and Safeguarding Responsibilities
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children in line with statutory guidance
* Support pupils’ wellbeing, personal development, and readiness for learning
* Maintain a vigilant approach to safeguarding concerns and follow procedures correctly
Partnership Working
* Build positive relationships with parents and carers, sharing information about children’s progress and wellbeing
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and external professionals
* Contribute to team planning and wider school life during the duration of the contract
Person Specification
Essential
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience teaching within EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage)
* Strong knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework
* Ability to create an engaging, inclusive, and structured learning environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare
Desirable
* Experience working in a faith-based or values-led school setting
* Knowledge of early phonics programmes
* Experience supporting children with additional needs

* Warm, enthusiastic, and approachable manner
* Strong organisational skills and flexibility
