Director of Operations – Sheffield - Photonics/Fabless Semiconductor
A succesful and growing photonics Semiconductor company based in Sheffield is seeking a Director of Operations to join and both lead and scale their end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain operations. Youll be driving the transition of their cutting-edge technology to high-volume production and play a pivotal role in the next stage of the company.
What youll do as the Director of Operations:
• Lead global supply chain, foundry, and OSAT partner relationships
• Oversee wafer starts, assembly, test, and delivery schedules
• Drive capacity planning, forecasting, and production scaling
• Own S&OP processes and align supply with demand
• Lead operational readiness for new product introductions (NPI)
• Build and scale high-performing operations, logistics, and supply chain teams
• Monitor KPIs and drive improvements in yield, cost, and delivery performance
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and ensure compliance
What youll bring as the Director of Operations:
• Expertise and prior experience in semiconductor operations or supply chain
• Strong background in fabless semiconductor environments
• Deep understanding of foundry and OSAT ecosystems
• Experience scaling from NPI to high-volume production
• Strong leadership and team-building capability
• Data-driven mindset with strong commercial awareness
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
