Overview:
Our client is a leading national construction firm that is looking to expand their current offering and build on their recent success. As part of this expansion, they are implementing a secure Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solution within their Microsoft Azure environment.
They are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of this VDI rollout. The successful candidate will coordinate technical teams, ensure compliance with security standards, and deliver a secure and efficient desktop experience for users.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver the end-to-end implementation of a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solution within an Azure environment.
* Define and manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and governance processes.
* Work closely with IT, Cloud, Infrastructure, and Cyber Security teams to ensure successful delivery.
* Manage stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical teams.
* Oversee user acceptance testing, rollout, training, and transition into business-as-usual support.
* Provide regular project reporting, risk management, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* 10+ years’ experience delivering IT infrastructure or cloud transformation projects.
* Working knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies, such as:
* Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
* Citrix or VMware Horizon (advantageous)
* FSLogix or Windows 365 Cloud PC
* Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure fundamentals and cloud architecture principles.
* Experience managing projects in secure or regulated environments.
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and governance skills.
* Experience with PRINCE2, Agile, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
