We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to join our maintenance team covering a number of different educational buildings in Cambridge city centre working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00. Monday to Friday.
Key activities:
1. Reporting to the M&E Supervisor
2. To provide the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of electrical services plant and equipment
3. To carry out the installation of new electrical equipment as required i.e. minor new works, refurbishment and capital works replacement programme
4. Investigate, trouble shoot and rectify defects for all electrical systems and associated plant/components or if unable to do so, arrange specialist external staff or subcontractors
5. Experienced in all types of design and installation techniques with the ability to appraise problems and the capability to rectify them.
6. Ensure prompt and accurate completion of all associated paperwork
7. To participate in the Appointed Persons role for an identified discipline
8. Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, shift times alternating weekly between 06:00 and 15:00 and 09:00 to 18:00, with a requirement to participate in the on call rota
Skills, qualifications & experience:
9. Must hold a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant electrical discipline with suitable industry experience
10. Competent Person L8 experience
11. Asbestos Awareness
12. Good communication skills, customer focused with a proactive, flexible, can-do approach
13. In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
14. Driving license essential
