The Role
We are seeking an Audit Advisor in Edinburgh. You will support assistant managers and managers in delivering quality client work, adding value, and completing assignments effectively. Your responsibilities include attending client meetings, gathering information, and presenting findings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Execute audit planning and completion in accordance with internal processes, considering resources and budgets.
2. Lead planning, fieldwork, and completion of audits, managing expectations and addressing issues early.
3. Handle complex audit areas during fieldwork, consulting senior team members as needed.
4. Participate in planning and clearance meetings, contributing to preparations and discussions.
5. Review draft accounts, address client queries, and ensure clarity and accuracy.
6. Act as the main client contact during audits, identifying opportunities for additional support services.
7. Manage delegated work from junior team members, ensuring timely delivery.
8. Understand financial recoveries, quotes, lock-up, scope creep, and WIP management.
9. Prepare fee estimates and conduct WIP analysis.
Qualifications and Skills
* Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA/ICAS or equivalent).
* Newly qualified or part-qualified candidates considered.
* Experience in a similar role and client-facing environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
