PRINCIPAL TECHNICIAN Fareham, Hampshire New year, new job. Are you an experienced Principal Technician looking to take on a senior, hands-on role within a respected civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Fareham? This is an excellent opportunity for a Principal Technician who wants technical responsibility, variety of work and long-term progression within a supportive team. You will be joining a well-established consultancy anchored in the Fareham office, working closely with local engineers while supporting civil engineering projects across the region and further afield. The work spans residential, commercial and large multi-phase developments, supporting clients wherever their schemes are located. The role As a Principal Technician, you will play a key role in the production and quality of civil engineering design information. Key responsibilities include: * Producing high-quality drawings for highways, drainage and external works * Drafting construction details and bespoke designs from engineer input * Managing CAD standards, drawing registers and combined site layouts * Checking drawings produced by the team to ensure accuracy and compliance * Supporting civil engineers with technical drawing production * Maintaining templates, legends and engineering keys * Sharing knowledge across teams to support consistent delivery About you This role suits an experienced Principal Technician ready to lead by example. You will ideally have: * 6 years' experience in a civil engineering technician role * Strong AutoCAD skills with experience using Site3D, Civils 3D or PDS * Experience supporting highways and drainage schemes * Exposure to large or multi-phase development projects * Strong attention to detail and good communication skills Eligibility to Apply Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
