Our Preston site is on the look out for a Machine Minder to join the Butchery Department. You will be responsible for ensuring lines are set up, ready and running correctly.,
* Work with the shift manager to ensure all machines set up correctly and ready for production
* Assist the Line Leaders with Pre-Operational start-up checks; including controlled documents, equipment check sheets, hygiene standards and line labour management
* Comprehension of position vs plan and be looking ahead to ensure equipment and materials are available for the plan to be delivered
* Carry out planned maintenance on the equipment and components to identify any damage or wear
* Ensure the upkeep of the machinery to allow for optimum output and increase efficiencies
* Maintain equipment to optimum standards safely and with minimum downtime
* Utilise the equipment, ensuring the machines are functioning well and training others on how to safely use the machines
* Assist the engineering team during major stoppages/breakdowns/technical issues with the plant/machinery
* Assist the hygiene team by stripping down machines for cleaning
* Work with the hygiene team during, and at the end of shift, so the lines required during the shift are cleaned in a timely manner, to eliminate down time when moving lines
* To ensure that any production targets set by the Supervisors and Line Leader are met; or if this is not possible, shortfalls are reported to the relevant person in a timely manner
* To contribute in reducing all aspects of 'waste'
Experience in a similar role: machine minder, machine technician
* Experience in a production environment / fast moving consumer goods
* Attention to detail
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and work to daily deadlines
