Job Profile As the successful CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator, you will play a key role within a small, skilled machining team. You’ll be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes to produce precision components from a range of metals to tight tolerances. This is an excellent opportunity for a CNC machinist looking to develop further — training will be provided on specific machine controls and tooling as long as you have prior CNC turning, programming, setting, and operating experience. DutiesProgram, set, and operate Fanuc-controlled Doosan CNC lathesMachine precision components to tight tolerances, ensuring consistent qualityWork from engineering drawings to produce small batch and prototype partsInspect finished components using appropriate measuring equipmentMaintain tooling, fixtures, and machine setups for repeatability and efficiencyOptimise machining parameters to reduce cycle times and improve tool lifeContribute to process improvements and problem-solving within the machining departmentEnsure all work is completed safely, accurately, and to scheduleMaintain a clean and organised workstation in line with 5S standards Skills & AttributesProven experience in CNC Turning, Machining, Lathe Operation, or similar roleConfident programming and setting on Fanuc controlsMill/Turn experience Lathes with Milling capabilities would be advantageous but training availableStrong understanding of machining tolerances, materials, and tooling principlesCapable of working independently or as part of a teamHigh attention to detail and commitment to qualityPositive attitude towards learning, development, and continuous improvement Education / CertificatesNVQ or equivalent in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering desirableApprenticeship or formal training in CNC machining or precision engineering advantageous Hours of Work40 hours per week over 4 daysFlexible start times between 6:00am and 8:00amChoose Monday–Thursday, or Tuesday–Friday10-hour shifts per dayHourly rate: £20.00 – £25.00 per hour depending on experience Health & SafetyWork in accordance with all company safety standards and proceduresUse PPE correctly and report any hazards or incidents immediatelyMaintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace DevelopmentOngoing training on CNC controls, tooling, and machining methodsOpportunities for progression into senior setter or programming rolesEncouragement to participate in lean and continuous improvement initiatives Interested If you’re an experienced CNC Turner Programmer, Setter looking to join a company that values precision, quality, and professional development we’d love to hear from you.
