Salary: £24,000 £26,500 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including early, late, weekend and bank holiday shifts, on a rota basis
About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker(s) to join our team in a high-quality Adults Residential Care Home in Oxford. Our home provides a person-centred and inclusive environment for adults with a range of support needs, including learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, mental health challenges, and physical disabilities.
As a Support Worker, your role will be to empower residents to live as independently and meaningfully as possible, while maintaining safety, dignity, and respect at all times. You will work collaboratively within a skilled care team to support individual care plans and promote the well-being and rights of every resident.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support tailored to each resident's needs, preferences and goals
Support residents with all aspects of personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting and maintaining personal hygiene
Administer and record prescribed medication safely and in accordance with policies and training
Encourage and support residents to participate in daily living activities, both within the home and in the community
Promote choice, dignity and independence, ensuring residents are involved in decisions about their care and daily lives
Assist with meal preparation, dietary planning and support during mealtimes, including any nutritional or swallowing requirements
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including care plans, daily logs, incident reports, and medication administration records
Engage residents in meaningful recreational, social and therapeutic activities, tailored to individual interests and abilities
Support residents with appointments and external engagements, ensuring appropriate communication and transport arrangements
Work in partnership with family members, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure continuity and quality of care
Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety procedures at all times
Participate in team meetings, regular supervisions, and mandatory training to support professional development and service standards

Ability to form trusting, respectful relationships with residents, families and colleagues
Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging situations professionally
Flexible approach to working hours, including availability for shifts across days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays
Right to work in the UK
Desirable Attributes: Prior experience in a similar role in residential or supported living settings
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (Adults)
Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or complex behavioural needs
Training in medication administration, safeguarding, moving and handling, or positive behaviour support (PBS)
