Branston is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager to lead operational excellence at our Abernethy site. This senior, hands-on leadership role sits on the Site Management Team and is accountable for production performance, cost efficiency, quality standards, and team development.
You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, monitor key performance metrics, and foster a strong culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Performance & Continuous Improvement
Analyse production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Lead initiatives to reduce waste, improve quality, and optimise resources
Collaborate with Engineering and Technical teams to improve machine performance
Improve packaging efficiency and crop utilisation
Reporting & Compliance
Report on KPIs including giveaway, wastage, downtime, labour efficiency, and utilisation
Support Health & Safety, GMP, SOP, and non-conformance investigations
Ensure accurate documentation and compliance updates
Labour Management & Planning
Forecast labour requirements based on production plans
Ensure shifts are appropriately resourced
Provide Team Leader cover when required
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop production teams
Conduct 1:1s, PDPs, and performance reviews
Oversee onboarding and training programmes
Develop succession plans and career pathways
Shift Accountability & Culture
Take full accountability for production targets in productivity, quality, and safety
Embed a culture of continuous improvement
Champion Branston’s values and ways of working
What we are looking for:
Proven leadership experience in a production or food manufacturing environment
Strong analytical skills with a data driven approach
Proficiency in Excel and other reporting systems
Excellent communication & motivation skills
Strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
