Workshop Engineer Location: Sutton Service, Sutton-in-Ashfield Reporting to: Workshop Supervisor Job Purpose Workshop Engineer responsible for the repair, maintenance, overhaul, diagnostics, and testing of heavy diesel engines and powertrain systems, ensuring all work meets OEM standards for quality, safety, and performance. This role requires strong mechanical engineering capability, fault-finding skills, and experience within a busy workshop environment. Key Responsibilities Responsible for the disassembly, inspection, fault diagnosis, repair, and reassembly of diesel engines, transmissions, axles, and transfer cases to OEM specifications. You will use a range of diagnostic tools, engineering equipment, and technical data systems to ensure accurate fault identification and repair. Key duties include: * Carry out engine, transmission, axle, and driveline overhaul and repair to OEM standards * Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and mechanical troubleshooting on heavy-duty systems * Safely strip, clean, inspect, and rebuild mechanical components * Test and evaluate completed units for performance, reliability, and quality assurance * Deliver right first-time, defect-free engineering output * Complete accurate job cards, service reports, and workshop documentation * Carry out painting, palletising, and preparation of completed units for dispatch * Manage workload effectively in a fast-paced w...
