Mission of the position
The QMS Engineer ensures the effective implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System in accordance with IRIS standards. This role supports compliance, quality assurance, and process improvement initiatives to ensure consistent product and service quality. The role may require occasional travel within the UK & Europe.
Functions and responsibilities
1.0 Key Responsibilities
1. Implement and maintain the site’s QMS in alignment with corporate policies and relevant regulations.
2. Lead internal and external audits; coordinate responses, follow-up actions to ensure compliance of the closure dates and lead and contribute to the closure of open points by proactively collaborating with the working teams.
3. Monitor UK MNCRs on a regular basis, follow up on pending actions & deadlines and report progress to Head of Quality and QMS representative in HQ. Lead the closure of actions proactively assisting the working group.
4. Create a Process review system in the UK and monitor improvement actions on a regular basis. Lead and contribute to the closure of the open points by collaboratively assisting the working group.
5. Monitor corporate QMS documentation changes and create a consistent feedback loop to the relevant teams in the UK site.
6. Participate in process forums with HQ to be up to date with the business latest direction regarding QMS requirements and bring UK input into the discussions.
7. Report on QMS performance to the Head of Quality and support the site’s quality objectives.
8. Create weekly, biweekly and monthly reports to inform on QMS status.
9. Participate in regular meetings with corporate team in HQ to inform of the progress of the UK site.
10. Monitoring of the deployment of Quality Initiatives in the UK.
11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality is integrated into all operations and promoting a Quality culture throughout the company.
12. Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by the line manager.
Training required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, or a related field - essential
Strong knowledge of quality tools, documentation, and regulatory compliance. Desirable
Experience with QMS implementation and maintenance (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, GMP). essential
Required professional experience
Desirable
Relevant experience in a Quality/Manufacturing role working in a Quality-focused industry such as Transportation, Aerospace, Pharmaceuticals etc.
Experience using Quality problem solving tools (8D, CAPA, SCRA, 5-why)
Experience of Special Processes within a manufacturing or Quality control environment (welding, painting, bonding, torque tightening, electrical crimping, riveting)
Technical and/or practical knowledge valued
