I am recruiting directly for the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), a partnership that is shaping the future of UK energy through the delivery of Sizewell C – a 3.2-gigawatt power station set to provide low-carbon electricity for 6 million homes for generations to come. About the Role
We are seeking an Estimator to join our team, working alongside some of the most experienced professionals in the industry. As part of the CWA, you will collaborate with Sizewell C, Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke, benefitting from a wealth of international expertise.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the consistency of our estimating approach, working closely with the Lead Estimator and Head of Estimating
* Produce and assure estimating documentation, either independently or alongside a Senior Estimator
* Mentor and support junior members of the estimating team, sharing your expertise and experience
* Support the Geotechnical Estimating Team in developing robust project estimates
* Review drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costing sheets for materials, labour and equipment
* Record key assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and assist in risk evaluation from a pricing perspective
* Liaise with project team members and our supply chain to understand and develop methodologies and principles
* Develop labour, plant, material and subcontract pricing within our Estimating Software (Candy)
* Produce quantity take-offs and scheduling from enquiry documents
* Compile elementary bills for pricing and prepare supplier and subcontractor enquiries
* Create graphics and text for tender proposals, and source bespoke items from our plant division
* Work within electronic portals to submit and retrieve information
* Support package handovers to operations
Required Skills
* Proficiency in Excel and similar software
* Strong written English and mathematical skills
Preferred Skills
* (Desirable) Experience with Candy Estimating Software and RIB Cost X Quantification & Estimating Software
* (Desirable) Familiarity with AACE principles of Estimating Class and associated maturity
* Flexibility and a collaborative attitude
