Role Purpose
We are seeking a Lead Business Analyst to join the World Check One team, part of the Nottingham-based Risk Intelligence Product Engineering organisation. The role will act as the main liaison between product management, architecture and engineering teams to ensure agile delivery of high‑quality solutions for World‑Check One, a critical platform for risk intelligence and compliance screening.
Key Responsibilities
* Business & Technical Analysis
o Lead end‑to‑end technical analysis for sophisticated features, including API specifications, data modelling, mapping, transformation logic and system interaction diagrams.
o Collaborate with architects and engineers to validate technical feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural principles.
o Run the work intake forum to assess, prioritise and align new initiatives with strategic objectives.
o Lead early lifecycle activities – discovery, feasibility analysis and shaping of epics before delivery.
o Produce detailed documentation: sequence diagrams, data dictionaries, service interaction flows.
o Support impact analysis for changes across distributed systems.
o Ensure requirements are traceable to technical design and test cases.
* Line Management
o Lead and mentor the Business Analyst team, providing coaching, feedback and career development.
o Allocate BA resources across projects and ensure consistent quality of outcomes.
o Drive adoption of analysis standards and continuous improvement within the team.
* Agile BA Practices & AI Augmentation
o Drive feature and epic identification and decomposition into user stories.
o Define acceptance criteria and maintain a healthy portfolio backlog with Product Owners.
o Explore and implement AI‑powered tools to accelerate requirements gathering, documentation and analysis.
o Use AI‑assisted insights for data validation, impact analysis and backlog optimisation.
o Champion continuous improvement in Agile analysis and AI Augmentation practices across the department.
* Quality & Compliance
o Ensure solutions meet regulatory standards and internal governance requirements.
o Support UAT planning and execution, ensuring traceability from requirements to test cases.
Skills & Experience
* Essential
o Demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, risk management or compliance technology.
o Deep technical analysis skills: API design, data modelling, integration patterns and system architecture awareness.
o Experience in line management or team leadership within a BA function.
o Expertise in Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) and tools (Jira, Confluence).
o Excellent communication, facilitation, and expectation management skills.
* Desirable
o Experience with World‑Check or similar risk intelligence platforms.
o Familiarity with cloud‑based architectures (AWS, Azure) and microservices.
o Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (FATF, OFAC, EU AML directives).
o Exposure to AI/ML tools for business analysis.
o Relevant Business Analysis and/or Agile qualifications or accreditations.
