Our water company client is seeking two Assistant Engineers to join their prestigious Havant Thicket Reservoir Project on a permanent basis.

Important:
Major civils/earthworks experience is an advantage.
The reservoir is an environmentally-led project that will help safeguard internationally-rare rivers in Hampshire by providing an alternative, sustainable water source.
It will also protect some of the county's rare river habitats, provide a new green leisure facility for local communities, wetland habitats for rehomed wildlife, and a visitor centre. It is the first new reservoir in the South East since the 1970s, developed in collaboration with Southern Water, with a project scope of £340m (and increasing).
The project will be delivered through a main reservoir contract, two pipeline contracts, and additional related contracts. Candidates will join the existing project office, working directly with the FutureWater joint venture and other partners. The project is expected to run until at least 2030 with possible extensions.
The role reports directly to a Lead Engineer.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting the Engineering Lead in design assurance processes, including meetings, minute-taking, tracking review responses, forecasting, and reporting.
* Tracking design reviews and approval of submissions by main contractors.
* Managing responses to Technical Queries from contractors, ensuring timely responses as per contractual obligations.
* Collating stakeholder responses and rationalising them onto a single Client Comment Sheet.
* Engaging with colleagues and stakeholders within Portsmouth Water, especially Operations, Water Quality, and Consents Teams.
* Supporting the development of new systems and processes to improve engineering assurance.
* Taking minutes and participating in meetings with Design Guardians, PW Operations, and technical workshops.
* Attending regular meetings with the HTR Engineering Team.
* Assisting in creating scopes of work for instructions to the Design Guardian.
* Ensuring design review processes are managed successfully for all packages.
* Tracking responses to Technical Queries and involving experts as needed.
* Managing contractual scopes, standards, and regulatory requirements including health, safety, environmental, and planning permissions.
Skills, experience, and qualifications:
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Understanding of the design process and its commercial implications.
* Team player with good interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage inputs from multiple parties and work to deadlines.
* Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams.
* Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field.
* Experience in earthworks or pipeline projects.
* Experience with design and construction in BIM or common data environments.
* Salary circa £45-55k, with benefits including discounts, hybrid working, a discretionary bonus, up to 15% pension, and share options.
