Job Description:
Overview: We are seeking an experienced shift Mechanical Process and Operations Engineer to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and compliance of a busy CHP plant environment.
About the Company: Our globally renowned blue-chip client has been established for nearly a century and is recognized as a market leader in nutritional solutions worldwide. Due to ongoing success and strategic growth, they are recruiting an experienced Utilities Mechanical Operator.
Responsibilities:
* Perform PPM and reactive repairs on equipment including CHP, WWTP, compressed air, steam, nitrogen, utility water, barometric water, drains, clean ditch, and gas systems.
* Monitor wastewater treatment to ensure compliance limits are met.
* Manage power generation and steam production in the CHP plant.
* Support emergency breakdowns and perform mechanical duties out of hours.
* Maintain cleanliness following GMP guidelines.
* Supervise contractors during turnkey projects and manage work orders via Maximo CMMS.
* Ensure safety protocols are followed, including safe start-up, operation, and shutdown of plant machinery.
* Prepare the plant for weather-related events, perform maintenance jobs, and liaise with the maintenance department.
* Ensure product throughput and quality standards are maintained.
* Conduct site inspections using digital tools and collaborate with the Utilities Manager and other departments.
* Provide mechanical support during production breakdowns, including out-of-hours shifts.
* Complete shift handovers and maintain accurate shift logs.
Candidate Requirements:
* Qualified to at least C&G / BTech or above in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience as a fully qualified E&I or Mechanical Engineer.
* Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) certification is advantageous.
* Knowledge of water treatment plants is a plus.
