The Quality andPatient Safety Manager is responsible for promoting and assuring patient safetyand high standards of clinical quality within the organisation. This role leadson the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives,clinical governance policies, and monitoring frameworks that enhance patientoutcomes and reduce clinical risk. A key aspect of the role is to foster aculture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement across clinical andoperations.
The post holderwill provide expert advice and assurance to the Chief Executive Officer, SeniorLeadership Team, and relevant Board sub-committee on matters of clinicalquality, compliance, and patient safety. They will work closely with theClinical Quality and Operations Director and collaborate with the Non-ClinicalQuality Manager to ensure alignment and consistency in quality efforts.
Main duties of the job
The role alsocarries responsibility for Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), ensuringthat legal requirements and sector best practices are applied effectively. Inaddition, the post holder will lead on all safeguarding matters related toclinical activities, acting as a key liaison for internal teams and externalagencies to ensure a robust safeguarding framework is in place.
The Quality andPatient Safety Manager will hold a relevant clinical qualification andregistration (e.g. HCPC registered Paramedic or Critical Care Paramedic) andbring substantial experience in clinical governance, incident investigation,and healthcare quality systems. While this role carries no direct linemanagement responsibilities, it requires strong leadership and influence acrossmultidisciplinary teams.

ComplianceMonitoring and Reporting Clinical Operations
Monitorand analyse clinical data to identify trends, support service development, andhighlight areas for improvement.
UtiliseRADAR Healthcare analytics and reporting functions to track compliance acrossaudits, risks, tasks, and documentation.
Promotea culture of compliance and accountability, particularly regarding adherence toclinical policies and procedures.
Prepareconcise audit and compliance reports for the Clinical Quality and OperationsDirector and Medical Director.
Provideclinical quality assurance reports to the Senior Leadership Team, Board, andsub-committees, highlighting any areas of concern.
Regulated Activities
Supportcompliance with Care Quality Commission regulatory standards to ensurethe delivery of safe, person-centred care.
Submitstatutory notifications for example Regulation 16a, RIDDOR, on behalf of theRegistered Manager when authorised.
Contributeto CQC self-assessments, peer reviews, and preparation for inspections.
Assistin collating and presenting evidence to regulatory bodies during inspection orreview.
Safeguarding
Actas the organisational lead for safeguarding within clinical operations.
Managesafeguarding cases, including referrals, child death notifications, and CDOPrepresentation.
Maintainand respond to the clinical safeguarding inbox in a timely and appropriatemanner.
Contributeto the development and dissemination of groupwide safeguarding policies andresources.
Generatesafeguarding reports and ensure effective liaison with external safeguardingpartners.
Document Control
Overseeclinical document lifecycle management, ensuring version control and accuraterecords in RADAR Healthcare.
Ensuretimely communication and implementation of document updates across clinicalteams.
Monitorcompliance with documentation standards and report non-conformance.
Workwith the Company Secretary to maintain governance-related documentation.
Audits and KPIs
Developand maintain a comprehensive clinical and operational audit schedule.
Conductor support audits based on clinical guidelines, SOPs, PGDs, or learning needs.
UseHEMSBase and other systems for clinical audit activity and performancereporting.
Reviewand assure the quality of completed audits, escalating issues as needed.
Benchmarkclinical data and outcomes with external providers as required.
Patient Safety Events (Incidents, Concerns,and Complaints)
Promoteopen reporting and learning from patient safety events.
Designand oversee systems to investigate incidents, ensure follow-up, and sharelearning.

ReviewHM Coroner's reports for relevant learning and ensure dissemination.
Infection Prevention and Control (IPC)
Leadon IPC across the organisation, ensuring compliance with statutory guidance andbest practice.
Collaboratewith the IPC lead Director on group-wide IPC policy, compliance and reporting.
Monitorcleaning schedules, audit results, and contractor performance.
InvestigateIPC incidents and implement appropriate learning and improvements.
Additional Duties
Contributeto the annual Education and Training Needs Analysis.
