We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Technicians to join our dedicated team. This is an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in the medical device decontamination service. You will be required to complete all aspects of the training programme and develop competencies in all work areas, contributing to a continually evolving decontamination service. The medical device decontamination service is vital for the successful delivery of patient care within the hospital.
As a team member, your core responsibilities include handling surgical instruments through the decontamination process—from receipt, disinfection, inspection, packing, sterilisation, to despatch to user departments. This also involves the collection, disinfection checking, and transportation of flexible endoscopes.
All work must be carried out in full compliance with ISO 13485:2016 Medical Devices standards.
Flexibility is essential as shift rotation and weekend working will be required to meet future service expansion plans.
Previous experience with Sterile Services is desirable, but full training will be provided to successful candidates.
This position progresses to Band 3 upon successful completion of competencies in all three work areas of the department.
NHS Golden Jubilee is open to considering flexible working options for this role.
This vacancy may close early if a high volume of applications is received, so please apply early to avoid disappointment.
As a disability confident leader, we are committed to inclusive and accessible recruitment processes. If you have a disability or long-term health condition covered by the Equality Act 2010 and need support during any stage of the recruitment process, please refer to the job pack for more information.
NHS Golden Jubilee encourages applications from all community sections. We promote a culture of inclusion and are proud of our diverse workforce.
Details on how to contact the Recruitment Service can be found within the Job Pack.
