The Role
We are looking for a creative and motivated Junior Video Editor to join our team. At Podmasters, we make podcasts for a wide range of clients and our own original content, from politics and football to health and lifestyle.
Your job is to take raw studio footage and turn it into polished episodes and "must-watch" social media clips.
We don’t expect you to have a decade of experience, but you should have the technical basics down and a natural eye for what looks good.
We care more about your aptitude, your willingness to learn, and your creative "gut feeling" than how many years you've spent in an office.
What you’ll be doing
* Editing: Cutting full-length podcast episodes and making sure the audio and video are high-quality.
* Social clips: Turning long interviews into snappy, captioned videos for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
* Studio help: Assisting in the studio to set up cameras, check microphones and make sure guests feel comfortable – you’ll initially be asked to focus on video set up but expected to develop basic audio set up skills.
* Organisation: Keeping video files and projects tidy so the rest of the team can find what they need.
Who we’re looking for
We want someone who is unflappable and enjoys working at a fast pace. You should have some experience (perhaps from university, personal projects, or an internship), but we are really looking for potential.
The Essentials
* Software: You know your way around Adobe Premiere Pro. If you know After Effects or Audition, even better.
* The hooks: You understand what makes people stop scrolling. You know how to find the most interesting 30 seconds of a long conversation.
* Attention to detail: You notice the small things, like a typo in a caption or a weird jump-cut, and you fix them before anyone sees.
* Attitude: You’re a self-starter. If you don't know how to do something, you’re happy to Google it or ask for help to get the job done.
* Reliable: You can hit deadlines without being micromanaged.
