Your key responsibilities and impact
As a Post-Production Technical Operator apprentice (PPA26), you will gain experience in:
* Editing content for a variety of BBC platforms
* Digitising and managing content
* Delivering TX files to the playout provider and maintaining up-to-date systems and applications
* Teamworking and communication across departments
You will study for an industry-recognised apprenticeship qualification, with blocks of teaching at London South Bank University. Modules include:
* Video technology
* Audio technology
* Metadata and timecode
* Codecs and files
* Edit assistant operations
* Networks and storage
* Data Conforming and finishing
* Quality Control
* Archiving and legacy technology

Your skills and eligibility

Eligibility criteria
* Be 18 years old or over by the apprenticeship start in September 2026
* Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to start
* Be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the duration
* Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme
Further to eligibility: not have completed or be working toward qualifications in the apprenticeship subject at level 4 or above; candidates under 19 must meet Maths/English GCSE or equivalent requirements and achieve Functional Skills Level 2 if not already attained by start.
