Catering Assistant

We’re looking for a proactive and energetic Catering Assistant to support our kitchen and front-of-house operations. If you love working with food, enjoy being part of a team, and thrive in a busy environment, this role is for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
Food Prep & Support
* Help chefs with basic food preparation—chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients
* Assist in cooking and plating meals to high standards
️ Service & Presentation
* Serve food and beverages with a smile
* Set up and clear dining areas to create a welcoming atmosphere
Cleanliness & Hygiene
* Keep the kitchen spotless—wash dishes, clean surfaces, and maintain hygiene protocols
* Ensure all equipment is clean and ready for use
Stock & Deliveries
* Receive and unpack deliveries
* Monitor stock levels and check expiry dates to keep everything fresh and safe
⚙️ Kitchen Operations
* Report equipment faults and help maintain a smooth-running kitchen
* Follow health and safety guidelines at all times
Customer Interaction
* Engage with customers in a friendly, helpful manner
* Handle feedback and assist at the till when needed
What We’re Looking For

* Basic food prep skills (training provided)
* A commitment to cleanliness and safety
* Great communication and customer service skills
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualities
* Physical Stamina: The ability to stand for long periods and handle physically demanding tasks.
* Teamwork: Working effectively as part of a kitchen team.
* Attention to Detail: Crucial for food quality, hygiene, and managing customer allergies.
* Health and Safety Awareness: Understanding and following food safety and general health and safety regulations.
* Efficiency: Working quickly and efficiently to manage busy periods.
