Scan4Safety Assistant
As a member of the Purchase to Pay and eCommerce team, the Scan4Safety Assistant will support the daily delivery of Scan4Safety activities, ensuring best practice and monitoring of core principles.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Trust’s Scan4Safety program and maintain inventory management systems and point‑of‑care systems.
* Provide general support and maintenance of the Scan4Safety service across the Trust and Procurement department, offering internal support to clinical stakeholders for point‑of‑care scanning and troubleshooting.
* Technical support for scanning consumables and implantable devices in procedural areas, ensuring correct information is scanned to patient records and accurate tracking of procedures.
* Liaise with the Catalogue team to ensure products are up to date and managed using GS1 principles, and advocate GS1 best practice for core enablers.
* Assist with training and guidance for clinical colleagues on best practice and support the identification of Scan4Safety champions within clinical teams.
* Attend theatre training days to encourage wider participation in the Scan4Safety programme and use of IMS technologies.
* Serve as the first port of call for all issues relating to point‑of‑care scanning, resolving any issues arising from scanning practices in clinical/procedural areas and, where required, attend procedures to ensure scanning is upheld.
