Your new role
As a Street Trading Officer, you will play a key role in monitoring and enforcing street tradingpliance. Birmingham currently has 88 approved street traders, and you will conduct weekly checks to ensure adherence to licencing conditions. You will also carry out city patrols, investigate illegal trading activity, and take enforcement action where necessary, including writing up detailed case notes and preparing reports.In addition, you will respond to general enquiries, primarily from traders seeking guidance or clarification on policies. This is a varied role thatbines fieldwork with office-based tasks, requiring confidence and professionalism in all interactions.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed, you must have previous experience in enforcement or as a warden (security experience is not required). Strongmunication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential. You must hold a valid driving licence, as travel across the city is required. No DBS check is necessary for this role.
