Are you an experienced warehouse leader who thrives in a fast paced logistics environment? We’re looking for a forward thinking General Manager to take full ownership of operations in one of our largest UK facilities. This is a high impact leadership role with responsibility for operational excellence, safety, team performance, and continuous improvement across a complex, multi shift operation.
About the Role
As Warehouse General Manager, you will lead all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring that activity is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with service expectations. You will drive operational strategy, lead a large and diverse workforce, and work closely with cross functional teams to deliver outstanding service for customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead warehouse operations, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and service targets are achieved
* Manage and develop a large team of managers, supervisors, and operational colleagues
* Oversee budget planning, cost control, and resource allocation
* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and internal policies
* Optimise warehouse processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives
* Maintain strong stock accuracy and effective use of warehouse management systems
* Build positive relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers
* Deliver the service our customers need as a trusted partner
Can you offer:
* Significant experience managing a large warehouse or distribution centre within the logistics sector
* Proven leadership of multi shift operations and large workforce populations
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in warehousing environments
* Experience managing budgets, KPIs, and operational performance
* Advanced knowledge of WMS platforms and data driven decision making
* Experience with automated warehouse systems or robotics
* Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar improvement methodologies
* Background working within high volume e commerce, retail, or multi client operations
