Job Title: Production Operative
Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire
Shift Pattern: Double Days, Rotating Shift Pattern (39 hours per week)
Salary: £12.21 per hour (Overtime available with increased rates)

Overview:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Production Operative. This temp to perm role offers the opportunity to join a dynamic team and grow within the company. Working under the direction of the Machine Operator/Shift Manager, you will be trained on all aspects of the conversion machines operation, and your contribution will be vital to ensuring high standards of production and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that the levels of Health and Safety, hygiene and housekeeping are maintained to a high standard
Understand and execute the instructions on the specification sheets relevant to the position
Liaise with the relevant departments to ensure the correct quantities of materials are present for the job
Work with the crew to set up jobs in the timeliest manner possible
Stack and send pallets that will travel down the line and are fit for palletisation. Ensure all pallets are of a first-class presentation
Working with the crew ensure all cleaning and maintenance is carried out to a high standard and in a timely manner
Assess manual handling and make recommendations for improvement to your operator
Immediately report any mechanical issues to the Machine Operator
Ensure that the resources within the job holders control are used in an optimum manner reducing cost and waste wherever possible
Provide and implement basic solutions to issues that affect the quality of the product and operation
Contribute ideas and solutions that will improve the levels of customer service and/or reduce costs at all opportunities
Maintain a positive can-do attitude
Working Hours: (Weekly rotation)
Week 1: Monday to Thursday – 06:00 AM to 02:00 PM | Friday – 05:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Week 2: Monday to Thursday – 02:00 PM to 10:00 PM | Friday – 12:00 PM to 07:00 PM
Total of 39 hours per week
Overtime:
Saturday (6 AM to 12 PM): paid at time and a half
Sunday (6 AM to 12 PM): paid at double time
Skills & Experience:
Previous production or manufacturing experience is advantageous, but not essential.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high quality work.
Ability to follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
A proactive approach to problem solving and improvement initiatives.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Hard working with a positive and flexible attitude to work.
