Overview
Mental health services in Manchester are working towards Community Transformation with a place-based, community mental health model. Social work plays a key role in upholding human rights, fostering a strengths- and asset-based approach to recovery, and contributing to multidisciplinary integrated working. This role supports service users in delivering high quality, person-centred, strength-based social care duties within Specialist CMHTs in North Manchester.

Responsibilities
* Carry out social work duties in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team to deliver effective, safe, integrated services for adults.
* Promote high standards of practice in assessments and person-centred planning; be creative to meet individual outcomes.
* Assess, plan and review in line with the Care Act (2014) and s117 of the Mental Health Act (1983).
* Take a strengths-based and assessment-based approach to support.
* Work with a caseload of individuals to develop assessments, recovery plans and structured care plans collaboratively.
* Signpost to non-statutory services or commission packages of care.
* Complete high quality assessments of Mental Capacity (in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005) and chair Best Interest Meetings.
* Make safeguarding enquiries in line with s42 of the Care Act (2014), ensuring safeguarding is person-centred, outcomes are achieved and risk is mitigated.
* Comply with SWE Professional Standards and be registered with Social Work England.
* Comply with legislation, national and local policies and procedures.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Eligibility to practise as a social worker with Social Work England (aligned with applicable professional standards).
* Experience of working within a social work framework in a mental health context is preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and to manage a caseload with a person-centred focus.
* Understanding of the Care Act (2014), Mental Health Act (1983) s117, and Mental Capacity Act (2005).
* Commitment to safeguarding and an ability to undertake safeguarding enquiries when required.
