Fire Alarm Service & Maintenance Engineer (Emergency Lighting Experience)
Location: Manchester / Liverpool / Preston (Northwest-Based with National Travel)
Salary: £28,000£32,000 basic + KPI Bonus + Overnight Allowance
OTE: £35,000£40,000
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Overview:
Were recruiting on behalf of a national fire safety provider looking for a committed Fire Alarm Service & Maintenance Engineer. This position is ideal for someone early in their electrical career perhaps a third-year apprentice or recently qualified engineer whos keen to specialise in fire alarm servicing and grow with a business that supports development and nationwide work.
Youll be joining a collaborative team delivering compliance and safety services across the UK, with travel and overnight stays typically required from Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
Service, maintain, and fault-find on commercial fire alarm systems
Test emergency lighting and replace fittings where necessary
Complete compliance reports to a high standard
Work in line with relevant regulations (e.g., BS 5839) and company safety protocols
Travel to client sites across the country, with overnight accommodation arranged
Candidate Profile:
A third-year electrical apprentice or recently qualified engineer
Comfortable with emergency lighting testing and replacements
Proactive, flexible, and comfortable with regular travel and overnight stays
Interested in developing a long-term career in fire safety
Holds a full UK driving licence
Package Includes:
£28,000£32,000 basic salary depending on experience
On-target earnings up to £40,000
KPI performance bonuses
Ongoing training and clear progression path
