Cheshire East Council (CEC) is looking for experienced and self-motivated Grade 9 Social Workers to join our innovative and friendly Adult Front Line Community Contact Team in the East
You must be able to undertake person centred and strengths-based assessments within a community setting, with the aim of improving client outcomes for the residents of Cheshire East. Additionally, this post will provide a wide range of learning and training opportunities and includes integrated working across the Health and Social Care sector. This post is an excellent opportunity to progress your career and is suitable for any experienced Social Worker.
The Contact team is a busy team where all referrals come into the Adult Social Care Teams, including safeguarding, self-neglect, carer breakdown, domestic abuse, drug and alcohol concerns and mental health issues. The Candidate must be able to manage to work autonomously and deal with pressure. They should also be considerate of the Prevent, Reduce, Delay process and work with other professionals to maintain independence and increase health and well-being. This is short term work, and the candidates need to be able to work under pressure.
The Adult Community Teams are part of the wider Care Community Partnerships with GP’s, Matrons, Mental Health services, Housing and voluntary sector services as they take a collaborative approach to supporting people within its footprint. The vacancy exists in the East of the Council, so includes Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Poynton and Knutsford.
What we are looking for:
* enthusiastic and keen Social Workers who have a good understanding of adult safeguarding, domestic abuse, mental capacity and Best Interest decisions making.
* Have some experience of working with individuals with mental health concerns or self-neglect.
* The candidate should be self-motivated with excellent communication skills and have the ability to work within the wider multi-disciplinary arena.
* Good organisational skills and time management is key to effectively managing caseloads.
* The candidates should be able to provide a client centred approach to care and demonstrate sound knowledge through evidence-based assessments and management of support in a variety of situations.
* It will be essential for the post holder to work autonomously within the Council’s policies and professional practice, in addition to maintaining accurate and comprehensive client documentation.
