Job Title: EAP Triage Counsellor
Location: Southport (Hybrid)
Salary: £25,750.00
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time - 8:30am to 5:00pm
Responsibilities
* As a Triage Counsellor, you will be speaking to clients daily, assessing them, arranging appointments, and supporting the internal EAP team.
* Be empathic and relational with clients; be methodical and organised in your approach to work. Due to the busy nature of the department, multi-tasking and priority management are key, and you will be supported by a team delivering an excellent service to clients.
* You will be the first port of call for clients, and you will need to have a calm and empathetic manner.
* Paid additionally, this role includes participation in an on-call rota, providing vital support to callers in distress during their most vulnerable moments.
* You will also need excellent keyboard skills to make accurate notes. Experience in dealing with incoming calls will be an advantage.
Essential Qualifications
* Must have completed and passed a minimum of Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
Experience
* EAP experience would be an advantage
* Mental Health experience
* Team Player
* A commitment to client confidentiality
* Excellent telephone manner
* Excellent administration and computer skills, in particular the handling and the processing of client data
* A positive “can do attitude”
* Experience of working in a client administration or service delivery signposting role
* Strong empathy and listening skills
