Your new role
As a Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with your stakeholders to help drive performance through excellent relationship building skills and strong analytical capabilities to support optimized decision making for the business unit. You will be involved in maximizing short-term performance results and supporting longer-term strategic business cases to advance the business.
Alongside this, you will be part of the core DFS group Finance team, fostering strong relationships across the business and ensuring Finance remains central to decision-making. You will liaise with a wide range of senior Finance and non-Finance stakeholders, supporting decision-making and producing high-quality management information, financial plans, and business case development.
What you'll be doing
1. Providing weekly financial insights to support business performance reviews
2. Conducting financial analysis, deriving learnings, and making recommendations to budget holders / SFBP to support decision-making
3. Generating key insights from financial and non-financial data (internal and external) to inform business action plans
4. Ensuring accuracy of month-end management accounts, including reviewing accruals & prepayments and understanding performance drivers
5. Forecasting and budgetary control for specific areas of the DFS business, supporting SFBP with forecasting and budgeting
6. Providing analysis and insights to support and challenge budget holders
7. Monthly trend analysis of key indicators and corrective action plans for non-financial managers
8. Collaborating with SFBP on development projects; developing decision support models
9. Supporting business case development and playing a key role in delivering and tracking performance
10. Deputising for SFBP as required

* You possess commercial acumen and curiosity to understand business performance and appropriate actions
* You have financial modelling skills
* You demonstrate strong analytical capabilities to identify insights from data
* You are a dynamic individual with strong communication skills, including to non-financial managers
* You have a broad understanding of finance disciplines
* You are a strong team player, able to work with and through others
* You are flexible to manage changing demands
* You can work to tight deadlines
* You hold a degree (or equivalent higher qualification)
* You are in the final exam stage / newly qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
* You have previous experience in a commercial role
