An opportunity has arisen for a part time highly motivated advance physiotherapy practitioner to join our established Intermediate Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service.
The post holder will have a proven track record in the management of complex musculoskeletal pathology with excellent clinical skills, and be qualified in injection therapy.
Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team would be desirable. Accountability will be to the Clinical Lead, with strong professional links to the Director of Physiotherapy.
We are an MDT comprising of Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners, Advanced Podiatry Practitioners and GPwSI providing high quality clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of peripheral musculoskeletal conditions to ensure the right care at the right time, with strong links to Orthopaedics and Rheumatology Services.
The post also involves the triage of secondary care referrals and will be delivered from the community locations at Whitby Hospital, Redcar Primary Care Hospital, Guisborough Primary Care Hospital, East Cleveland Primary Care Hospital and Onelife, Middlesbrough.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will provide independent assessment, investigation, diagnosis, advice on the management and treatment for patients presenting with peripheral musculoskeletal problems referred by primary care clinicians GPs, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, podiatrists, whose complexity or severity precludes management in the primary care setting.
The postholder will act as a source of specialist knowledge and expertise on the management of peripheral soft tissue and non inflammatory joint disease and to provide an advisory service to senior community physiotherapists, GPs and other health care professionals ( podiatrists, nurse practitioners).
The postholder will work as a part of the Clinical Assessment Service to independently and /or team triage all GP referrals to orthopaedics through highly advanced specialist assessment of patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders making on decisions on appropriate services for each referral.

Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
1. To hold a degree or relevant diploma in Physiotherapy
2. Registered with HCPC
3. To hold a masters degree in advanced level assessment, diagnostic and treatment courses in relevant specialist area or be meeting the requirements of the multiprofessional framework for advanced clinical practice.
4. Evidence of M level training in Injection Therapy, SOM
5. To have completed accredited training in specialist area where available and to have ongoing evidence, continuing professional development within the specialist field.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
6. Ability to analyse highly complex verbal and written clinical and non-clinical information
7. Extensive post registration experience working at a senior level with the speciality area and willingness to work towards any appropriate credentials which are available and applicable to the clinical area.
8. Advanced specialist knowledge and experience in assessment, diagnosis, and management of highly complex peripheral musculoskeletal disorders beyond the usual scope of practice of staff within mainstream services.
9. Knowledge of audit and research processes
