This is a band 5 development post within the North Cumbria Crisis Team. The successful candidate would be expected to complete a program of learning and development through the first 6-12 months, and once competencies are completed and there is evidence of sustained competency the post is converted to a band 6 position.
On completion of the development program, this is a full-time clinical-facing position with shift patterns across a 7-day provision 365 days a year. The successful candidate must be able to work flexible shift patterns that include nights, weekends and bank holidays.
The North Cumbria Crisis Team are recruiting Full Time and Part Time vacancies based at Carelton Clinic in Carlisle and Lillyhall in Workington.
Responsibilities
You would be working within a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality care for patients at home as an alternative to hospital admission. The post holder will be part of a team operating under the crisis model and pathway, offering a 24/7 service as an alternative to hospital admission. Responsibilities include triage, holistic and comprehensive assessments, and treatment of patients in mental health crisis within their home environment. You will be supported to develop sound clinical skills in triage, assessment, formulation, risk management and therapeutic interventions. You will be expected to develop skills to complete all aspects of Crisis work and, within a year, to be working independently. This includes triaging referrals, completing assessments, and coordinating care for patients in crisis. You will also support and develop skills to coordinate shifts and manage competing demands for the service.
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience of working with individuals with a variety of mental health needs is required, and ideally a track record of clinical experience in working with risk and complexity. The role requires the ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
