They’re growing, and on the lookout for an exceptional Senior Technical Production Manager to join their leadership team. They are easy to get to from the M4, with onsite parking and a creative and buzzing environment.
About the role:
This is a senior and highly visible role within the production team, responsible for independently managing all technical aspects of small, medium and large-scale events for a portfolio of major clients. The role reports into the Head of Technical, and works along-side one other Senior and two Technical PMs and a junior PM. You will also work closely with the Project Management team who oversea the end to end delivery of the events.
You’ll lead the technical delivery of more complex productions, UK and international, provide expert strategic input into pitches and proposals, and mentor other members of the technical team. Working closely with Project Managers and senior leadership, you’ll help shape standout productions while ensuring flawless execution onsite. The role comes with remuneration for any weekend working (for the event day/days) and time in lieu for post 10-hour shifts.
Specifically:
• Lead the technical delivery of complex live, virtual and hybrid events from concept to completion
• Develop technical solutions, budgets and production approaches for pitches and proposals
• Provide senior advice on feasibility, resourcing, risk, equipment and cost planning
• Manage technical budgets including suppliers, crew costs and internal charges
• Oversee suppliers, freelancers and technical teams to maintain exceptional delivery standards
• Produce and review technical plans including CAD layouts, schematics, rigging and H&S documentation
• Partner with Project Managers to ensure timelines are realistic and achievable
• Act as the senior technical contact for clients, venues and internal stakeholders
• Support virtual and hybrid productions with schedules, platform briefings and contingency planning
• Lead onsite builds, live show operations and de-rigs with calm authority
• Conduct post-event debriefs, identifying lessons learned and future improvements
• Mentor Technical Production Managers and junior team members to raise standards across the department
• Support the Head of Technical on continuous improvement initiatives and team development
About you:
• A highly experienced Technical Production professional with at least five years in the events industry
• Proven success delivering complex multi-discipline productions across audio, video, lighting, LED, streaming and hybrid
• Strong commercial awareness with experience owning budgets and supplier negotiations
• Confident leading teams onsite and managing multiple stakeholders at senior level
• Excellent working knowledge of Vectorworks, SketchUp and Microsoft Office
• A natural mentor who enjoys developing others and sharing best practice
• Calm, credible and solutions-focused under pressure
• Strong client-facing communication skills, written and verbal
• Organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred
