We are looking for a Pricing Development Managerto join the heart of NFU Mutual’s pricing function, leading an agile squad responsible for building and deploying pricing algorithms. This role combines technical expertise with coaching, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery responsibilities. You will support the team in delivering high-quality pricing solutions while building capability across colleagues.
With a strong emphasis on leadership, coordination and quality assurance, you’ll oversee the end-to-end delivery of pricing algorithm designs. You’ll manage a small team of specialists, setting direction, prioritising work and ensuring outputs meet customer, business and regulatory requirements.
Working closely with the Workstream Lead, Product Owner, and Scrum Master you will take ownership of planning and reporting to ensure the smooth operation of the squad and maintenance of the pricing-wide programme plan to support timely and effective delivery.
Key Responsibilities
4. Manage the design and implementation of pricing algorithms for deployment into live rating environments
5. Lead, motivate and develop a team of direct reports, creating an engaged and high-performing working environment
6. Review and assure code produced by the team to ensure accuracy, stability and suitability for live customer rating
7. Control the quality of team output through proportionate testing, protecting live pricing systems from errors
8. Plan, delegate and manage day-to-day workflow to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
9. Manage the team’s contribution across project teams, including planning, delivery, issue resolution and post-deployment support
10. Liaise with stakeholders across Pricing, Underwriting, BSI, IT, Sales and Agency to coordinate delivery and share information
11. Represent the Design & Deployment team in meetings and deputise for the Design & Deployment Manager when required
12. Undertake Radar coding activity where necessary to support delivery of robust pricing solutions
13. Contribute to governance, audit and assurance activities as required
14. Keep up to date with industry trends and technology developments to drive continuous improvement in tools, processes and methodologies

About you
You will also have:
Essential
15. Experience leading or coordinating technical teams in a development, pricing or analytical environment
16. Solid understanding of pricing algorithm development and deployment concepts
17. Experience reviewing technical work to assure quality and readiness for production
18. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and delivery timelines
19. Confident communicator able to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
20. Proven ability to motivate, develop and support team members
Desirable
21. Experience coding in RADAR and/or another procedural programming language
22. Insurance or financial services experience
23. Knowledge of software development practices and testing approaches
24. Experience of workflow management, task allocation and delivery planning
25. Basic SQL or data interrogation experience
26. Degree in IT, Computer Science or a numerical discipline
27. Exposure to governance, audit or control environments
