Location: Livingston (Hybrid working) | Type: Full-time Temporary Maternity Contract
Are you an experienced HR professional ready to take the next step in your career? Our client is looking for a Senior HR Advisor who's passionate about people, thrives on building inclusive cultures, and is excited to shape the future of work. This is a temporary role to cover a maternity contract (9-12 months)
As the Senior HR Advisor, you'll be a trusted partner to both employees and managers-providing expert guidance across all areas of HR. This is a dynamic generalist role working alongside and supporting all business functions across the entire company. You'll coach and support managers to align people strategies with business goals, helping them lead with confidence and clarity.
You'll play a key role in fostering a positive, high-performing work environment-challenging and guiding leaders to manage performance effectively and compassionately. Alongside this, you'll collaborate closely with the HR Business Partner to mentor and develop our HR Coordinator, helping shape the next generation of HR talent.
💼 What You'll Be Responsible For:
Talent & Workforce Planning
Identify current and future skills needs, ensuring a strong talent pipeline and succession planning across key areas.
Lead end-to-end recruitment for all levels, supported by a dedicated HR Coordinator.
Continuously improve the candidate experience and ensure hiring practices reflect our values and commitment to diversity.
Support performance and development processes (RISE, OMR, PDPs), ensuring quality conversations and actionable outcomes.Employee Experience & Engagement
Analyse engagement and survey data to identify trends and shape action plans.
Conduct regular engagement check-ins and advise on interventions to support morale and wellbeing.
Lead or support key projects aligned with our Diversity & Inclusion strategy and broader employee experience goals.
Design and facilitate inclusive training and events that bring our culture to life.Employee Relations & Policy
Manage complex employee relations cases with empathy, fairness, and professionalism.
Act as a trusted advisor to managers, helping them navigate policies and people challenges confidently.
Review and update HR policies to ensure compliance and relevance.
Provide a confidential sounding board for stakeholders and contribute to employee forum actions.Learning, Development & Career Growth
Identify training needs and deliver or coordinate impactful learning interventions.
Support career development conversations and succession planning across teams.
Collaborate on training budgets and manage relationships with external training providers.
Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning across the business.Reward & Recognition
Support the annual performance and compensation review cycle, coaching managers on effective conversations.
Develop and implement meaningful recognition initiatives-both monetary and non-monetary.🧠What You Bring
Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally with exposure to strategic projects and employee relations.
Excellent communication and coaching skills-empathetic, clear, and confident.
Strong project management and organisational skills.
