About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join a growing manufacturing organisation. This hands-on role involves overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring accurate storage, control, and kitting of materials, while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will lead a small team, ensuring stock accuracy, efficient workflow, and adherence to operational processes. You will play a key part in driving warehouse performance and supporting the wider production function.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise, coordinate, and support a team of logistics operatives to achieve daily targets.
* Oversee all warehouse functions including goods-in, storage, kitting, and dispatch.
* Ensure stock is accurately maintained and transactions are correctly recorded in the ERP system (SAP).
* Uphold strict adherence and monitor product life cycles, particularly for adhesives, electrical components, mouldings, and consumables.
* Conduct regular stock counts and support internal and external audits.
* Allocate daily tasks, monitor team performance, and ensure KPIs and deadlines are achieved.
* Report and investigate stock discrepancies, shortages, or damages.
* Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and lead by example in maintaining a safe working environment.
* Assist with training and developing new and existing team members.
* Liaise effectively with production, procurement, and other departments to ensure smooth operational flow.
* Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation within the warehouse.
* Operate forklift trucks when required to support the team, particularly during peak periods or staff absences.
* Deputise for the Logistics Manager when required.
The Candidate
Previous experience in a Warehouse or Logistics Team Leader / Supervisor role within a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
Computer literate, ideally with experience using SAP or similar inventory management systems.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
Forklift licence preferred (training can be provided for suitable candidates).
Strong understanding of warehouse operations, stock control, and kitting processes.
Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
