As a Senior Biomedical Scientist at our Tunbridge Wells Hospital, you’ll bring relevant qualifications and laboratory experience in multidisciplinary biomedical science. You have a good working knowledge of different analytical equipment across various techniques. You’re also a natural communicator and team player, sharing our commitment to quality.
Responsibilities include:
* Delivering quality pathology services and participating in out-of-hours service as required.
* Cutting 30 or more blocks per hour.
* Understanding histology processes, from tissue preparation to staining.
* Interacting with consultant histopathologists.
* Maintaining full UKAS compliance.
* Performing biomedical diagnostic testing, interpretation, and reporting, including quality control.
* Keeping records of specimens, results, reagents, and consumables.
* Supporting the validation and assessment of new equipment and developing new diagnostic procedures to enhance patient care.
Relevant laboratory experience in multidisciplinary biomedical science is desirable. Good working knowledge of analytical equipment and techniques across disciplines is essential. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are required, along with a strong understanding of maintaining good customer relationships and providing high-quality service in a modern pathology laboratory.
